Description
Reproduction and digital restoration of a lithograph of the Silver Spray logo. Produced by the Fitger Company during Prohibition, Silver Spray was a nationally popular non-alcoholic, carbonated beverage made from catawba grapes and designed to mix well with bathtub gin and bootleg whiskey——hence the tag line “The Best Mixer in the Crowd.” During Prohibition Fitger’s made and sold near-beer, soda, and candy and even distributed cigars—but it was Silver Spray that truly saved the day and kept Fitger’s alive until Prohibition was repealed.
